a radio show during the 48 hours Neukölln Festival in Berlin

Durante 48 ore, un’antenna radiofonica capterà e diffonderà le testimonianze sonore di 30 uccelli che sorvoleranno la valle del picnic. Questi 30 uccelli alla ricerca del leggendario simurgh saranno udibili seduti comodamente nell’area da picnic situata a Neukolln oppure connettendosi a internet. Di questi 30 uccelli alcuni si poseranno a picnic, dove  oltre che ascoltarli,  si potrà con i proprio occhi ammirare il loro splendido piumaggio.
Siete quindi i benvenuti a condividere una bevanda nell’osservatorio sonoro a hertastrasse 23.

Durante 48 ore, 30 musicisti/artisti/uccelli si succederanno in una delle sette valli di picnic,
al loro passaggio lasceranno la loro testimonianza sonora del loro viaggio verso il paradiso.

That years the theme’s festival was: immigration
We decided to do a project about migration. Birds crossing border and continent.
The conference of the birds refer to a long and celebrated Sufi poem written in Persian by the poet Farid ud-Din Attar.

In the poem, the birds of the world gather to decide who is to be their king, as they have none. The hoopoe, the wisest of them all, suggests that they should find the legendary Simorgh, a mythical Persian bird roughly equivalent to the western phoenix. The hoopoe leads the birds, each of whom represent a human fault which prevents man from attaining enlightenment. When the group of thirty birds finally reach the dwelling place of the Simorgh, all they find is a lake in which they see their own reflection.
